State filing

Business formation services

Formation means sending the state’s creation document, often called articles of organization for an LLC, and paying that office. An operating agreement, an e-signature seat, and a lawyer consultation can be sold beside it. They are not the filing. Rocket Lawyer is listed first because this page starts with a membership that includes a filing offer. That is not a commission ranking.

Rocket Lawyer

This ordinary link opens Rocket Lawyer’s LLC page. Able Legal Forms does not earn a commission from it.

What you receive
Rocket Lawyer’s LLC page says its staff prepare and file the registration form with the state. The pricing page says the first LLC, corporation, or nonprofit registration is free with a membership, then $99, and that government fees are excluded.
One-time charge or subscription
The filing offer sits inside a membership. Standard is $149 per year or $34.99 per month. Plus is $249 per year or $49.99 per month. Pro is $349 per year or $64.99 per month. The first registration is $0 in service fees on every tier, then $99. State fees are extra.
Trial, renewal, cancellation
Every tier is offered as a 7-day trial for $0. The pricing page states the paid monthly and yearly prices. It does not spell out the cancellation steps. Cancel before the trial ends if you do not want the paid membership.
Editing and export
Membership includes making and signing documents in Rocket Lawyer’s own tools. That is a different feature from the state filing. This page does not treat those documents as the articles the state keeps.
State coverage
The LLC page says they handle the requirements of the state you choose. It does not publish a single filing-fee table. The fee is whatever that state charges.
Attorney access and its limits
Standard includes 12 Ask an Attorney written responses and does not include a live consult. Plus includes 36 written responses and 12 live consults. Pro lists both as unlimited. Rocket Lawyer says Ask an Attorney and the live consult provide legal information, not advice. A privileged advice session is a separate purchase at $149 for 30 minutes or $249 for 60 minutes. Registered agent service is not on Standard. On Plus and Pro it is $125 per year. EIN is not on Standard and is $70 on Plus and Pro.
Use this when
You want the state filing handled and you are also choosing a membership that includes documents and a set number of attorney contacts. Do not read “first registration free” as “the state charges nothing.”

Inc Authority

This ordinary link opens Inc Authority’s site. Able Legal Forms does not earn a commission from it.

What you receive
Inc Authority’s homepage says it waives its own LLC service charge and that you pay the state’s fee. Its terms say it can prepare and file formation documents and apply an electronic signature for that filing. The terms also say Inc Authority is not a law firm and does not give legal advice.
One-time charge or subscription
The homepage comparison lists a $0 LLC filing fee, a $0 registered agent, and a $0 business tax ID, plus state fees. A separate registered-agent product page lists registered agent service at $249 per year. The terms say a registered-agent subscription renews each year.
Trial, renewal, cancellation
The homepage does not describe a free trial of a membership. The unresolved point is the registered agent: the homepage presents it at $0, while the product page lists $249 per year and the terms say that subscription renews. Ask which year is included before you rely on “free.”
Editing and export
The pages reviewed here describe filing and a registered-agent service. They do not describe a full document editor or an export format for an operating agreement.
State coverage
The homepage is a national formation offer and state pages exist, including an Arizona example that repeats “you only pay the required state fees.” State fees differ. This site did not re-check all 50 state fee tables.
Attorney access and its limits
The terms say Inc Authority is not a law firm, may not perform attorney services, and does not create an attorney-client relationship. Do not treat this formation order as a legal consultation.
Use this when
You want a formation order whose advertised service fee is $0 plus the state fee, and you have checked whether registered agent or an EIN is included after the first year. It is not an operating-agreement product and not a lawyer.

What a formation order does not include by default

The state fee is paid to the state, even when the vendor’s service fee is $0. An operating agreement is the owners’ private contract. Rocket Lawyer’s document tools and Inc Authority’s filing service do not, on the pages above, say that a custom operating agreement is the same thing as the articles. Read the operating-agreement guide before you assume it is in the package. For the “free LLC” claim in more detail, see Is a free LLC really free?. If you are still choosing a structure, start with LLC vs sole proprietor. For membership filing help versus LegalZoom’s attorney plan, see Rocket Lawyer vs LegalZoom.

LegalZoom’s business-formation packages are not linked here. The only LegalZoom button on this page opens the attorney-plan page. That button is an ordinary link today, not an affiliate link, so Able Legal Forms does not earn a commission from it.
